        PONTYPRIDD.
        THE RHONDDA WATCH ROBBERIES. - At Pontypridd Police-court, on Wednesday, Richard Kaiser, watchmaker, was charged with stealing watches. - Prisoner had conducted a watch cleaning business at Porth, and several persons, including Jonathan Thomas (Tonyrefail), Charles Bradley (Cymmer), and John Heman (Porth), had entrusted watches to his care. Recently he bolted, taking with him 20 watches. The police tried to get his whereabouts, but failed till recently. He was apprehended by P.C. Thorney as he was quitting Cardiff Gaol, where he had been imprisoned for wife desertion. - The present charge was clearly proved, and he was sentenced to nine months' hard labour.

        HEAVY PUNISHMENT FOR STEALING WATCHES. - Richard Kaiser, watchmaker, was charged with stealing about twenty watches, belonging to John Hemans, Porth; Charles Bradley, Cymmer; Jonathan Thomas, Tonyrefail; and others. It appears he had the watches to clean and pledged them. He was apprehended by Police-Constable Thorney. Prisoner was then leaving Cardiff Prison, where he had been confined for deserting his wife. He was now sentenced to three months' imprisonment in each case, making nine months in all.
