The record says "2nd of 2nd month 1739". FindMyPast transcribes this as 2nd April, and FamilySearch as 2 Feb 1738 (sic). In this era, the year began on 25th March, and so April was the "2nd month" - this is confirmed by the entry above which mentions the "12th month of 1738/9"; January to March were often written as belonging to both the old and new year, and so the "12th month" cannot be December. Therefore the 2nd month is April.
