        YSTRAD & LLWYNYPIA NOTES.

A wedding in Surrey, Ystrad and Llwynypia families united. - A pretty wedding took place at St. Mary's Church, Fetcham, Surrey, on Saturday. The Rev. H. Collins, Vicar, officiated. The bridegroom was Mr. William Steadman Griffiths, second son of Mr. and Mrs. Aneurin Griffiths, hairdresser, Williams Street, Ystrad, and the bride was Miss Iris Doreen Amos, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Amos, 2, Railway View, Sherwood, Llwynypia. The bride was given away by her uncle, Mr. F. Bartholomew. She was dressed in a pale blue ankle length dress, pink picture hat, pink shoes and carriet a bouquet of carnations and roses. She was attended by her friend, Nurse Ormiston and a little friend, Janet Lease, was flower girl. Mr. George Andrews, friend, discharged the duties of best man. A reception was held at Redfield, Canon Grove, Fetcham, the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. Bartholomew. The lady was matron of honour and hostess. Many friends attended the reception and numerous presents were given the young couple. They later travelled to South Wales to spend the honeymoon and a wedding party took place at Sherwood. The bride and bridegroom are well known locally, she being a grand-daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Lyons, while the two families of Griffiths are very well known in Ystrad and Llwynypia. The bride was on the nursing staff at Bethlehem Royal Hospital and the bridegroom a chef there. They will make their new home at West Croyden. We unite with a host of friends in wishing Mr. and Mrs. Griffiths the best of health.
