        SWANSEA CURATOR.

        VETERAN WELSHMAN'S FINE CAREER.

Mr. Evan Lewis, 86, Walter-road, Swansea, died on Saturday, aged 92.

Mr. Lewis was curator and librarian at the Royal Institution of South Wales, Swansea, for about 40 years. As a youth Mr. Lewis worked in a colliery and was a monoglot Welshman. Having saved some money he took a course of study in England, and was subsequently appointed curator of the Swansea Institution. He was a deacon of Walter-road Congregational Church for about 35 years. Another support of the Royal Institution, Swansea, Mr. C. H. Glascodine, died last week. Mr. Lewis was twice married and his second wife died about four years ago. He had two sons, Mr. Idris Lewis, a teacher, and the late Mr. Collwyn Lewis, who was secretary to the Swansea Intermediate School, and was drowned in Langland Bay some years ago. The funeral will be held on Wednesday in Swansea Cemetery.
