[OBITUARY.]
MR. STANLEY FOSS
The death has occurred at Papatoetoe of Mr. Stanley Foss, aged 75, a former resident of the Raglan district for about 50 years. Born in Devon, Mr. Foss came to New Zealand about 50 years ago. As a young man he carried out contracts in flax-cutting in the Raglan district for a few years. He later entered the grocery business on his own acount and carried on successfully until retiring 13 years ago. He removed to Papatoetoe about seven years ago. A keen bowler, Mr. Foss was one of the foundation members of the Raglan Club, and later a member of the Papatoetoe Club. He was an office-bearer in the Raglan Congregational Church and was also associated with the school committee, holding office as chairman and secretary for a number of years. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
