FAILURE OF A PONTYPRIDD GROCER.
A meeting of the creditors of James John Parsons, grocer and baker, 31 and 32 Middle-street, Pontypridd, was held on Tuesday at Merthyr. The statement of affairs showed:- Gross liabilities, £2,201 6s. 9d.; liabilities to rank for dividend, £1,843 17s. 3d.; net assets available for distribution, £148 4s. 7d.; deficiency, £1,355 12s. 8d. The debtor assigned his failure to the following causes:- Being obliged to sell bread at too low a price in order to compete with other bakers; loss of £50 or so by fire, after allowing for the insurance money; bad debts owing to the strike; and extra expenses consequent upon the fire. The public examination has been fixed to take place at the Pontypridd court on the 13th of March.

Sale at 32, Middle-street, Pontypridd, on MONDAY, 26th February, 1900, at Two o'clock p.m., and the Machinery and Trade Utensils on the following day at the same time at the Steam Bakery, Coedpenmaen, Pontypridd.
