        EXETER REGISTRATION COURT.

The revision of the list of voters, both Municipal and Parliamentary, was resumed on Saturday at the Guildhall by the Revising Barrister (G. F. Speke, Esq.). Mr. Harris, solicitor, and Mr. E. J. Piper (Secretary of the Exeter Reform Association) appeared for the Liberals; and the Tories were represented by Mr. W. Friend, solicitor, and Mr. Gould, of the Tory Union.

        ...

Edwin Nicks (L.), occupier of a house in Portland-street, Newtown, was objected to by the Tories on the ground that he was not entitled to claim in succession, as the premises he previously occupied in Summerland Buildings were rented as lodgings, whereas he now claimed as occupier. It was, however, proved that last year he occupied a portion of a house, and that he simply claimed as a lodger because it was safer then to do so. Vote retained.
