        PONTRHYDYFEN WOMAN'S DEATH

        FUNERAL OF MRS. MARIA DIMOND

        The funeral took place of Thursday last, at Jerusalem C.M. Churchyard, Pontrhydyfen, of Mrs. Maria Dimond, wife of Mr. Frederick Wm. Dimond, of Underbridge, Pontrhydyfen, who passed away after a short illness.

        Mrs. Dimond was one of the oldest inhabitants of the district, and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lott Pugh. She was a popular figure in former days, and was a faithful member of St. John's Church, Oakwood.

        The vicar of Oakwood, the Rev. I. Ishmael, B.A., officiated at the funeral. The service at the church was fully choral and appropriate hymns were sung. Mr. W. J. Jenkins presided at the organ.

Haydn-Morgan, Swansea; David Pugh, Glyncorrwg; - Bevan, Cymmer; Jenkin Pugh, D. Pugh, Port Talbot; G. Thomas Williams, nephews; Wilfred Mitchell, Oakwood; Daniel Pugh and son, Llandebie; Thos. Price, T. Evan Thomas, Dillwyn Leaman, Tonmawr; Gwilym Williams, M.A., Llandilo; Rees Lewis, William Jones, W. Leyshon and son, Llansamlet, and H. Howell, Efailfach.

        The bearers were:- Messrs. G. Llewellyn, M.E., Stanley Jacob, E. David, John Deamand, William Gethin and D. Owen.
