Supposed Infanticide.
Richard Crossing, late storekeeper, Mudgee, and Bella Crossing, are strongly suspected of being concerned in the murder of an illegitimate child, the offspring of Bella Crossing, at Mudgee. Richard Crossing is about 55 years of age, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, stout build, fresh complexion, blue eyes, grayish hair and beard, large teeth, probably some deficient, slightly deaf, rough spoken; an Englishman; generally dresses in tweed. Bella Crossing is 18 years of age, 5 feet high, fair complexion, fair hair worn in ringlets, mole on cheek near nose, rather good looking. The most pressing inquiries should be made to trace these persons, who may have left the Colony. Warrant issued by Mudgee Bench, but the body has not yet been found.
