LATE MRS MUMFORD BAILEY.
A MODEST AND PATIENT WOMAN.
The funeral of Mrs Mumford Bailey, of The Lindens, Fishponds, took place at Greenbank Cemetery yesterday. A brief service was first conducted at the home by her brother, Councillor Latimer Thomas, and the Rev. Louis J. Bailey, of Beaminster. At the graveside, the latter, in the course of prayer, referred to her sweetness, modesty, and the endurance and patience with which she bore the suffering of her later days. Her memory would be an inspiration to others.
The family mourners were Mr John Mumford Bailey (husband), Miss Dorothea Maria Bailey (daughter), Mr William J. Mumford Bailey (son), Mr and Mrs Waldo Mumford Bailey (son and daughter-in-law), Mr and Mrs Arnold Mumford Bailey (son and daughter-in-law), Mrs John G. Redgate (Nottingham), Miss M. Thomas, Mrs A. J. Bracher (Plumstead) and Mrs P. Parker (sisters), Councillor and Mrs Latimer Thomas (brother and sister-in-law), Mr Waldo Thomas (brother), Rev. Louis J. Bailey (Beaminster), Mrs Walter Bailey (Weston-super-Mare) (sister-in-law), Miss C. M. Crouch (London), Miss Daisy Millis, Miss Eva Rankin, Mrs T. Sherrin and Miss A Forse (nieces), Mr Kingsley Parker and Mr Bernard Thomas (nephews).
There were also present Mr A. E. Osmond, the Rev. J. T. Morgan (pastor Morley Memorial Congregational Church), Mr and Mrs W. J. Hemmings (representing Argyle Hall), Mrs C. F. Underwood (Argyle Hall Sunday School), Mr W. J. Knill (Argyle Hall Bible Class), Miss E. Hemmings (Argyle Hall Band of Hope), Mr. E. J. Brown, in the unavoidable absence of the president, Mr G. A. Brown (Croft's End Mission), Mr J. E. Johnson, and Mr and Mrs G. Roberts.
In addition to the beautiful family floral tributes were wreaths from the members of the Argyle Hall Bible Class, the Argyle Hall Band, Croft's End Mission, Mr and Mrs G. Roberts, Mr F. H. Strong, and Mr J. M. Bailey.
The funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs T. Pakeman and Son, 3, White Ladies Gate, Clifton.
