        DEATH OF MR. RONALD DEACON.

        Tragic Sequel to a Chill.

We deeply regret to record the death of Mr. Joseph Ronald Deacon, the only son of Councillor and Mrs. J. R. Deacon, of St. Chad's Road, Lichfield, which took place with tragic suddenness at Blackwood Road, Streetly, on Tuesday morning. Mr. Deacon, who was only 27 years of age, caught a chill during the week-end, and took to his bed on Monday. The seriousness of his illness was not then apparent, but he died in the early hours of the following morning. Mr. Frank Cooper conducted an enquiry on Wednesday and recorded a verdict of death from natural causes. It was stated by Dr. McNab that after a post-mortem examination he found the cause of death to have been acute pneumonia.

Mr. Deacon was an old Lichfield Grammar School boy, and completed his education at Trent College. He then became an articled pupil with Messrs. Jefferies and Shipley, architects, of Walsall, and later joined his father in the firm of Messrs. J. R. Deacon and Son.

The funeral will take place at 2 p.m. to-day (Friday) at St. Chad's Church, Lichfield.
