        Death of Mrs. Catherine Louisa Evans.

        Mother of Ex-Councillor Moy Evans, Swansea.

        About two o'clock on Sunday morning Brynamman lost in death one of its eldest and most worthy inhabitants, Mrs. Catherine Louisa Evans, Windsor-terrace, Station-road, whose husband, a recognised pioneer of old Brynamman, Mr. D. L. Moses Evans, then of Brynbach Farm, died seventeen years ago.

        Deceased had reached the ripe old age of 83 years, and was noted for her noble traits of character. She retained the strength of her powerful mental faculties almost to the last. She was the mother of a noted family; the four sons being Mr. T. M. Evans, M.A., Ammanford; Mr. D. L. Moses Evans, solicitor, Ystradgynlais (deceased); ex-Councillor J. Moy Evans, solicitor, Swansea; Rev. E. Tudor Evans, Builth. There are also five daughters left to mourn a great loss, being Mrs. (Rev.) W. D. Thomas, Brynamman, Mrs. Williams, Windsor-terrace; Mrs. J. W. Johns, Ynyshir; Mrs. Ben Davies, Abertillery; Mrs. J. Howell, Saskatchewam, Canada, towards whom the deepest sympathy is manifested. The funeral is fixed for next Thursday at half-past three. The interment to take place at Christ Church, Cwmamman.

        OBITUARY.

        MR. D. L. MOSES EVANS, YSTALYFERA.

        Mr. D. L. Moses Evans, solicitor, Ystalyfera, has died after a short illness. Mr. Evans was 54 years of age, and much esteemed in the Swansea Valley, where he had a large practice. Some months ago he removed from Brynamman to Ystalyfera owing to increasing business. For many years Mr. Evans was clerk to the Llanguicke Parish Council, and only recently retired from the clerkship of Ystradgynlais District Council. He was a brother to the late Councillor J. Moy Evans, Swansea; Councillor E. T. Evans, Ammanford; and the Rev. Tudor Evans (vicar), Aberystwyth.

        LATE MR. D. L. M. EVANS.

        As recorded in our columns yesterday, the death took place quite unexpectedly on Monday of Mr. D. L. Moses Evans, the popular Valley solicitor, from congestion of the lungs.

        Deceased was a brother of Mr. Moy Evans, solicitor, Swansea; Mr. T. M. Evans, Cleark to the Ammanford Urban District Council; and the Rev. Tudor Evans, Vicar of Borth, near Aberystwyth. Mr. Evans leaves a widow. He had been in business in the Swansea Valley for a large number of years, and had worked up an extensive practice.

        For the last 18 months he had acted as Clerk to the Ystradgynlais District Council, but resigned his post there only a couple of weeks ago on account of ill-health. He was also Clerk to the Llanguicke Parish Council. The funeral will take place on Thursday afternoon.
