Mr. Lewis was curator and librarian at the Royal Institution of South Wales, Swansea, for about 40 years. As a youth Mr. Lewis worked in a colliery and was a monoglot Welshman. He was a deacon of Walter-road Congregational Church for about 35 years. Another support of the Royal Institution, Swansea, Mr. C. H. Glascodine, died last week. Mr. Lewis was twice married and his second wife died about four years ago. IN MEMORY OF TWO SONS

        TWO SCHOLARSHIPS FOR SWANSEA.

Provision to commemorate two sons, formerly well known in Swansea educational circles, is contained in the will of the late Mr. Evan Lewis, for many years curator of the Royal Institution of South Wales at Swansea, who died at the age of 92 at 86, Walter-road, Swansea, on April 7 last.

Mr. Lewis left £1,200, in two sums of £600 each, to be invested in the name of the Swansea Education Authority for five years, the income to then be applied to the purpose of providing leaving scholarships tenable at the University College of Swansea.
