FIRE AT PINHOE. - About six o'clock on Tuesday evening a fire broke out at the Poltimore Arms, at Pinhoe, kept by Mr. Charles Waters, and soon spread to premises on the opposite side of the road, belonging to his son, Mr. Waters. The West of England and Norwich Union fire-engines were soon in attendance from Exeter, but the supply of water being very scarce, the fire gained head, and consumed the public-house and out-buildings attached, and also the house occupied by Mr. Wm. Waters, together with the barn and other buildings behind, which were rented of Mr. Waters by Mr. Bazeley. The barn contained a hundred bushels of oats, which were destroyed. It is not yet ascertained with accuracy how the fire originated; but it it supposed to have been caused by a spark from a candle, which a boy was using in the stable behind the inn. The whole of the property, we hear, is insured in the West of England Office.
