        DEATH OF BUILDER'S WIDOW

        THE LATE MRS. J. E. ALCE

        We regret to record the death, which occurred on Thursday, of Mrs. Jessie Elizabeth Alce, of 37, Kent Street, Whitstable.

        The widow of Mr. E. Alce, a local builder, who died in 1940 and whose business is carried on by the couple's two sons, Mrs. Alce came to Whitstable from London 57 years ago.

        Aged 86 years, Mrs. Alce led a very quiet life.

        She leaves two sons, Mr. E. Alce and Mr. L. J. Alce and a daughter, Mrs. Mary Matson.

        The funeral took place at Whitstable Cemetery on Tuesday. The Rev. P. H. Austin officiated.
