W. H. JAMES, 74, DIED SATURDAY
William Henry James, aged 74 years, 480 Union Avenue, passed away at Nanaimo Hospital Saturday afternoon after a lengthy illness. Born at Clerkenwell, London, England, Mr. James came to Canada 41 years ago. He first took up residence at St. Amelie, Manitoba later moving to Port Alberni where he spent 15 years before moving to Nanaimo where he has resided since.
Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Gerald, at Port Alberni. There are three daughters, Mrs. J. Ferrori, Parksville; Mrs. Stan Crossley, Steveston; Mrs Lloyd Evans, Nanaimo. Twenty-one grandchildren also survive.
Msgr. Baker will conduct prayers at the Westwood Hirst Funeral Home this evening at 8 o'clock. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Peter's Catholic Church, where Requiem Mass will be held. The funeral cortege will leave the Westwood Hirst Funeral Home at 8:45 a.m. and proceed to the church. Interment will take place in the Catholic Cemetery.
