TWO ISLANDS ARE LEFT TO A GIRL
In his £17,071 will, Dr. Dugald Richard Gillies, of Ropley, Hants, a native of Scotland, has left his two islands, Belnahua and Ormsa in the Forth of Lorne, off the west coast of Scotland, to his daughter, Heather Margaret.
He wrote that should she not be 21 when he died, she should get the money from the sale of the islands.
The islands, south-west of Oban, were bought by Dr. Gillies some 20 years ago.
FOR SENTIMENT
Mrs. Gillies said to-day: "Belnahua, the larger of the two islands, at one time possessed slate quarries, which my husband's grandfather owned.
"My husband bought it for the sake of sentiment when it was offered for sale, and the other island went with it."
Nobody lives on either island now, but Mrs. Gillies said the family hoped to renovate the big house on Belnahua for use at holiday time.

BIRD SANCTUARY
Quarrying operations ceased on Belnahua about 40 years ago. A shepherd rows to the island each day to tend to the sheep grazing on it. Otherwise, life on both islands is wild, and Ormsa has become a bird sanctuary.
The new owner is 23-year-old Miss Heather Gillies, actress daughter of Dr. Gillies. She played the juvenile lead in "Worm's Eye View" during its provincial tour.
In private life, she is Mrs. Heather Ash. She has a month-old son.
