        FUNERAL OF MR GEORGE HERDMAN RANKIN. - The funeral of the late Mr. George Herdman Rankin took place yesterday at Greenbank Cemetery, Bristol. Many floral tributes were sent. The service was conducted by the Rev. F. G. Benskin, of Broadmead Baptist Church. Amongst the mourners present were: Mr and Mrs George William Rankin, Mr and Mrs F. G. Taylor, Misses Eva, Mabel, and Blanche Rankin, Mr and Mrs Gower M. Rankin, Mr and Mrs J. H. Smith, Mr and Mrs Douglas Rankin, Mr and Mrs Howard Rankin, Mr and Mrs Stanley Rankin, Mrs Bruce Rankin, Mr and Mrs Latimer Thomas, and Mr and Mrs J. Mumford Bailey. Born at Perth, Mr Rankin came some 50 years ago to Bristol to take up an appointment at the 'Western Daily Press' Office. Subsequently he opened in business for himself. He held office for many years with the Bristol Caledonian Society and other public organisations, and thus was known and respected by a wide circle.

        FUNERAL OF MR WALDO L. P. THOMAS.

        Mourners and Representatives at Canford

        The funeral of Mr Waldo L. P. Thomas, formerly associated with Mr Latimer Thomas in the firm of Latimer Thomas Bros., Ltd., insurance brokers, took place at Canford Cemetery yesterday, the Rev. Arthur Thomas (nephew) and the Rev. A. G. Bracher (brother-in-law) being the officiating ministers.

        The chief mourners were Mrs Waldo Thomas (widow), Mr Ernest Wright (father-in-law), Mr and Mrs Latimer Thomas (brother and sister-in-law), Mrs Ada Taylor and Miss Eva Rankin (nieces), Mr Bernard Thomas (nephew), Miss Thomas, Mrs Braclier, Mrs Redgate, Miss Harvey, Mr Harvey, and Miss Bailey.

        Henbury Golf Club was represented by Major Wilkins (secretary), Mr S. Becket Hurst, Mr B. W. Chappell, Mr S. Young, and Mr Roy Cadogan.

        Mr G. Anthony (secretary) and Mr A. J. Davis were present from Latimer Thomas Bros., Ltd. and Mr William H. Morgan (secretary) represented the East Bristol Collieries, Ltd.

        There were also present Mr J. M. Sanders, of the Bristol Club, Mr Stephen Carwardine, Dr. W. P. Dyer, Mr F. C. Bracher, Mr E Minors, and Mr R. Brodie.

        The arrangements were undertaken by T. Pakeman and Son, of 3, Whiteladies Gate, Clifton.
