LATE MR. P. SLADER
Burial of a Well-Known Citizen at Exeter
Amid manifestations of regret, the funeral of Mr. Peter Slader, of Heasley House, Archibald-road, the Barnfield, Exeter, took place at Exeter yesterday. Deceased was head of the business of P. Slader and Son, fruit merchants of Southernhay, but retired from active business a short time ago and accepted a seat on the Board of Guardians. At the municipal election on Thursday last he was successful in winning a seat on the Council by 44 votes. As the funeral procession left the church, "O rest in the Lord" was impressively rendered.
The coffin was of unpolished English oak with brass fittings and the inscription on the breastplate read "Peter Slader, fell asleep November 5th, 1923, aged 63 years."
