MILK PROSECUTION
KINGSKERSWELL FARMER FINED AT NEWTON
"The Bench consider this case too serious to be treated lightly, and the fine will be £3 and costs (29s. 6d.)," said Mr. C. W. Freestone (chairman) at Newton Abbot yesterday to Peter Richard Foss, of Rosehill Farm, Kingskerswell, who was summoned for having sold milk deficient in fat to an extent of not less than 14 per cent. on June 3.
Samuel Bowden, dairyman, of Babbacombe, Torquay, said in consequence of a sample having been taken from him, he requested the police to obtain a sample in the course of delivery from defendant, who supplied him with a certain amount of milk.
Defendant said the only explanation he could suggest was that after the sample was taken he had to turn away three stale cows, and that as his bruiser was broken, he was unable to give them oats for some time. After the milking had taken place he had nothing to do with the milk and did not see it go away.

SUPPLYING POOR MILK
Kingskerswell Farmer Heavily Fined at Newton Abbot
"The Bench consider this case too serious to be treated lightly. You will be fined £3, and the costs £1 9s 6d," said Mr. C. W. Freestone, Chairman of the Newton Abbot Magistrates on Tuesday, to Peter Richard Foss, of "Rollshill Farm," Kingskerswell, who was summoned for having sold milk deficient in fat of not less than 14 per cent., on June 3rd.
Samuel Bowden, of Babbacombe-road, Torquay, dairyman, said in consequence of a sample of milk being taken from him, he requested the police to take one in the course of delivery from defendant.
Foss stated that his only explanation was that he turned away the stale cows the day after the sample was taken. His bruiser had broken down and he was unable to give them any oats. He did not see the milk after the milking had been carried out.
